Ross Pary Hicks, age 41, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in a tragic accident in Clay City, Kentucky. He was born on September 6, 1983, to Bob "Birdman" Hicks and Sherry Wells Hicks. Ross was a proud graduate of Powell County High School, class of 2001, who carried the values of his faith as a devoted follower of Christ. He found immense joy in attending services at Grace Fellowship Church of God. Above all, Ross cherished his role as a father, delighting in every moment spent with his boys and creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Known for his exceptional skill as a barber, Ross built a solid reputation in the community. He served as the dedicated barber for the Powell County High School boys basketball team, where his talent and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure among players and parents alike. A traveling barber by trade, Ross took pride in delivering his services directly to his customers' homes, ensuring they received personalized care without the hassle of travel. His commitment to his craft was evident in the way he consistently went above and beyond to meet the needs of each customer, often forming genuine friendships in the process. When he wasn't wielding his clippers, Ross delighted in the game of golf, embracing the tranquility of the course as well as the camaraderie among fellow players. With a natural sense of humor, he was a true entertainer, effortlessly lightening the mood at any gathering with his infectious smile and quick wit. Ross was more than just a barber; he was a friend, a comedian, and a shining example of kindness to everyone he met. Ross was a remarkable individual whose resilience and spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His warm presence brought comfort and joy to his family and the entire Powell County community. The void left by his passing will resonate deeply, as he was not only a source of inspiration but also a cherished friend to many. His vibrant energy and kindness will be profoundly missed by all. Ross is preceded in death by his great niece, Madelynn Robertson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sons: Jonathan Ross Hicks, Colten Harley Hicks, and Alexander Pary Hicks; his ex-wife: Kristina Hicks; two sisters: Valeria Jones and Leslie (Anthony) Wright both of Clay City; one aunt: Shell (Jesse) Shepherd; two nieces: Cierra (Quintin) Robertson and Kylee Jones; three nephews: Dawson Wright, Joshua Jones, and Braedon Jones; and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral Services, officiated by Bro. Robert Boyd and Bro. Stephen Donithan will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Burial will be held at Kennon Cemetery in Clay City, Kentucky, with Brad King, David Miller, Jesse Shepherd, David Marcum, Josh Begley, Zach Claypoole, and Quintin Robertson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Delena Gibson, Cierra Robertson, Joshua Jones, Dawson Wright, Kylee Jones, Braedon Jones, Robbie Wright, Jonathan Ross Hicks, Colten Harley Hicks, Alexander Pary Hicks, Travis Fugate, and Naasson Fugate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
