Rachel Ellen Drake, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on Thursday, September 5, 1940, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Courtney Issac Roberts and the late Zola Pearl Neal Roberts. In her youth, Rachel embraced the hustle and bustle of the restaurant scene as a waitress at Dalton's and Bruen's Restaurants. Throughout her career, she dedicated years of service to Gale's Market and the Powell County Detention Center, worked tirelessly as a factory employee at C.M.S., and provided care and supervision as a bus monitor for Powell County Schools. Known for her skill as a seamstress, Rachel crafted beautiful garments with great precision and creativity. She loved games, often seen seated at the kitchen table, laughter filling the air as she played dominoes or various card games with family and friends. Rachel's upbeat personality was truly a beacon of light; she always wore a warm smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Generosity defined her spirit, as she frequently went out of her way to lend a helping hand to those in need. Family was at the heart of Rachel's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her bond with her siblings was particularly special, filled with warmth and love. Deeply rooted in her faith, Rachel eagerly participated in church activities at Stanton Christian Church, always seeking the community and connection her spiritual life offered. In addition to her parents, Rachel is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cecil Drake; her daughter, Teresa Pearl Kennon; two brothers: John Wayne Roberts and Charles Roberts; four sisters: Bonnie Crabtree, Phyllis McIntosh, Linda Thorpe, and Pearline Brewer; one grandchild, Zack Charles; and one great-grandchild, Danika Leighton Charles. She is survived by two sons, Carlton Issac (Carolyn Arvin) Drake, and Charles "Punkin" Drake both of Stanton; two brothers: Courtney (Geanne) Isaac Roberts, Jr. and J.C. (Judy) Roberts both of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Vickie Asch of Stanton; six grandchildren: John Cecil Drake, Joshua (Jessica) Charles Drake, Jessica Charles, Holly Drake, Heather Drake, and Emily Charles; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Greg Webb will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Burial will be held at Drake Cemetery in Stanton, with John Cecil Drake, Joshua Charles Drake, Gary Lee Asch, Larry Drake, Ricky Roberts, Travis Crabtree, Neal Hamilton, and David Arvin serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gale Means, Judy Means, James Townsend, Charlie Crabtree, and Timothy Frazier. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice East. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
