Mary Lou Creech, age 61, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home on Westview Drive in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1964, in Campton, Kentucky, to the late Robert Oscar Holder and the late Julia Ellen Burns Holder. Mary, in her youth, loved to sunbathe and, over the years, enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning her crops in preparation for winter. She enjoyed crafts, such as color art and flower arranging. Mary’s greatest joy was the love for her family. She loved raising her children and being in their presence. She enjoyed cooking and was excellent at it, fixing great meals for her family. Mary Lou was a very nice person, easy to get along with, and always had the goal of making everyone feel comfortable. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Holder and Garrett Wayne Holder, and two sisters, Cathy Lynn Coldwell and Elsie Marie Cockerham. She is survived by her lifelong companion, Shelby Banks; one daughter, Kiesha Holder of Stanton; one son, Paul Weaver of Winchester; two special daughters, Tosha Tolson and Shakayla Deaton; four special sons: Zachary Deaton, Shawn Donathan, Jacob Smallwood, and Shelby Banks; one brother, Alton Elvis Banks of Warsaw; one sister, Helen Holder of Campton; special cousin and friend Lilly Clifford; and six grandchildren: Bryson Banks, Taylen Blythe, Kiersten Tolson, Alayah Tyra, Atticus Deaton and Wyomi Deaton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Johnny Hurt, will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2026. Burial will be held at Hatton Creek Cemetery in Stanton, with Zachary Deaton, Shawn Donathan, Shelby Banks, Josh Clifford, Josh Holland, Jacob Smallwood, Ryan Clifford, and Dustin Claire serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Tolson, Ethan Tyra, Zack Clifford, Jim Clifford, and Rocky Claire. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
