Joyce Marie Hearne, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on Thursday, November 22, 1945, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Carl Martin and the late Gladys Lucile Martin. Joyce was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone around her. A lifelong member of the Stanton Christian Church, she found strength and community in her faith. In recognition of her contributions to the community, she proudly served as the 2024 Grand Marshal of the Lions Club Powell County Fair Parade, a testament to her dedication and impact. Throughout her career, Joyce demonstrated her unwavering commitment to serving others. For 23 years, she worked as a Funeral Director at Hearne Funeral Home, providing comfort and support to grieving families. Before that, she worked for 26 years as an Insurance Agent with Billings Insurance Agency, showcasing her expertise in helping individuals safeguard their futures. Additionally, Joyce spent a decade as an E.M.T. with Hearne Ambulance Service, responding to emergencies with courage and compassion. As the owner of Martin Trailer Park for 38 years, she created a welcoming home for many, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Her life was defined by service, dedication, and love. In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lee Hearne; one son, Billy Jay Hearne; one brother-in-law, Garry Lynn Hearne; and one great-grandson, Boone Thomas Tarver. She is survived by one son, David Hondo (Kimberly) Hearne, of Stanton; three grandchildren: Jaylee Marie Hearne, Isaiah David Hearne, and Casey Thomas (Shawna)Tarver; and one great-grandson, Wylee Wayne Tarver. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Greg Webb, will be held at Stanton Christian Church, 100 West Church Street, Stanton, Kentucky, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Burial will be held at Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Kentucky, with Brian Billings, Chris Nolan, Joshua Crowe, John Cunningham, Shawn Skidmore, Dwain Anderson, Linvelle Knox, Darrell Billings, Ben Rose and John Kelly serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Patty Gordon, Linda Anderson, Joyce Smallwood, Carol Knox, Melinda Moore, all former employees of Hearne Ambulance Service, and all past and present employees of Hearne Funeral Home.
