Debra Ann Wells, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at UK Healthcare, Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Wednesday, December 2, 1959, in Winchester, Kentucky, to Ralph Wells and the late Linda Wells. In her younger years, Debra was a passionate square dancer, delighting in the lively rhythms and the joy of moving in sync with others. This love for dance carried through her life as she embraced every style, from the graceful to the upbeat. When the opportunity arose, she eagerly gathered with family and friends on the basketball court, where her competitive spirit shone as brightly as her laughter. Debra relished the warm embrace of the sun, often laying out to soak up its rays, her vibrant personality as radiant as the day itself. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her cherished grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter and love. A constant companion by her side was a tall glass of sweet tea, a testament to her Southern roots and her love for the simple pleasures in life. With a fiery and outspoken nature, Debra was never one to shy away from sharing her thoughts. Yet, her fierce honesty was tempered by an undeniable kindness that drew people to her. In her professional life, she worked as a contractor for Tri Star Pools. She also found fulfillment driving the school bus for preschool children in the Powell County School System, bringing her lively spirit to every ride and ensuring each little passenger felt safe and special. In addition to her mother, Debra is preceded in death by one grandchild, Clinton Jackson Phipps. In addition to her father, she is survived by one daughter, Heather (Jacob Sebastian) Phipps of Owingsville; one son, James (Samantha) Phipps of Jeffersonville; and five grandchildren: Lexi Coy, Zaidyn Phipps, Xavier Phipps, Ariel Sebastian, and James Lincoln Phipps.
