Billy Arnold Davis, age 92, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home in Leeco, Kentucky. He was born on Thursday, August 31, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late William Arvell Davis and the late Golden Francis "Goldie" Whitt Davis. Billy graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Philosophy and earned a master’s degree in Divinity from Anderson Theological Seminary in Indiana. Throughout his life, he served his Lord and Savior as Pastor of three churches and their congregations: Erlanger First Church of God in Kentucky, Ashtabula First Church of God in Ohio, and Zoe First Church of God in Kentucky, which remained his spiritual home until his final day. Billy was an avid sports enthusiast; he played ice hockey while in college and later wrote about local sports for the Beattyville Enterprise after retiring from ministry. He had a deep appreciation for pipe organ music and was known for his caring heart, genuinely enjoying conversations with others and uplifting those around him. Billy had a deep affection for his family, valuing the countless years they spent together filled with love and unwavering support. He appreciated the laughter shared during family gatherings, the comfort of their warm embraces, and the way they stood by him through life's challenges. Each moment they spent together created a strong bond that he cherished deeply. Their love was a constant source of strength and joy in his life. In addition to His parents, Billy is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Davis, and four sisters: Lucille Manning, Frankie Gallien, Burma Davis, and Norma Davis. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Hartzell Davis of Leeco; two daughters: Karen Barnard of Anderson, Indiana, and Kerri (Skip) Phillips, Lily, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law: Arvy Davis of Lancaster, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Jacob (Shawna) Barnard, Stephen (Heather) Barnard, David Barnard, Ken De Guzman, Klein De Guzman, Joshua Fee, and Kate Fee; and four great-grandchildren: Isabella Barnard, Sophia Barnard, Samuel Barnard, and Nathanael Barnard. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Zoe First Church of God, 96 Zoe Church Loop, Zoe, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Dave Bishop, will be held at the church at 2:00 P.M., immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at Zoe Church Cemetery in Zoe, Kentucky, with Jacob Barnard, Stephen Barnard, David Barnard, Joshua Fee, Skip Phillips, Ron Simmers, Jeff Fee, and Cody Haynes serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ken De Guzman, Adam Tolson, Carl Mann, Jerry Oliver, Jerry Weber, and the staff of the Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
