Benjamin Scott Borders, age 25, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born on Monday, July 16, 2001, in Lexington, Kentucky, to James Delbert Borders and Jennifer Perry Borders. Benjamin was a proud graduate of West Jessamine High School, having completed his studies in the Class of 2019. He attended Catalyst Christian Church in Nicholasville. Benjamin worked as a carpenter with his family at Borders Fencing. Known for his larger-than-life personality, he approached life with passion. Benjamin was an avid fisherman and loved hiking and four-wheeling. He excelled as a first baseman for the Southeastern League in Lexington. Benjamin was greatly creative and possessed a wonderful imagination. Curiosity and a quick ability to learn defined him as he embraced new activities with enthusiasm and was remarkably successful in whatever he did. Benjamin enjoyed gaming, often immersing himself in the excitement of video games, particularly enjoying competitive matches in Call of Duty and Madden Football, and he enjoyed watching movies. His vibrant personality and infectious laughter could light up a room, and he found joy in making others smile. A true foodie, Benjamin savored the experience of fine dining and relished visits to great restaurants, and enjoyed cooking for his family. He was deeply empathetic; he always looked out for children, recognizing their needs and wanting to be a friend to those who he felt were being mistreated. Benjamin had a special bond with his maternal grandfather, who affectionately called him his little "Southpaw," and he adored Yogi the Bear, inspired by his grandfather's fondness for the character, creating a beloved connection that spanned generations. He was a wonderful brother and son who truly cared for his family and always made them feel loved. In addition to his parents, Benjamin is survived by three brothers: Nicholas (Miranda) Borders of Lexington, Jacob Borders of Nicholasville, and Evan (Haylee) Borders of Nicholasville; one sister: Nicole Borders Miller of Portsmouth, Virginia; and a plethora of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M., immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at Chop Chestnut Cemetery in Stanton, with James Delbert Borders, Nicholas Borders, Jacob Borders, Evan Borders, Dawson Barnett, and Blake Gill serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
