Archie Wayne Griggs, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at his home in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He was born on Friday, March 9, 1951, in Frenchburg, Kentucky, to the late Archie Malcolm Griggs and the late Pauline Ruth Rose Griggs. Archie was a devoted Christian whose profound love for God guided every aspect of his life. He actively served his local church, Goff's Corner First Church of God, in numerous roles, including as Chairman of the Board of Directors and as the Secretary/Treasurer. His heart was especially drawn to the church’s food bank, where he poured his energy into ensuring that every family in need received the support and resources they required. Professionally, Archie excelled as a Senior Field Coordinator at Comcast Cable, a role that showcased his ability to problem-solve and lead with integrity. In his downtime, he found joy in woodworking, often creating charming birdhouses and unique decorations that adorned the church, each piece reflecting his creativity and care. A lover of games, Archie enjoyed playing card games like Canasta and Hand and Foot, often gathering around the table with family and friends, sharing laughter and stories. His favorite moments were spent outdoors, relishing the beauty of nature, and cherishing the time spent with his cherished grandchildren, who knew him as a loving and supportive presence. Archie's television preferences leaned towards classic shows, as he found comfort in the humor of M.A.S.H. and the excitement of C.O.P.S. His quick wit and generous spirit were defining features of his personality—always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Archie shared a special bond with his playful Yorkie, Whiskey, whose antics never failed to bring a smile to his face. Ultimately, Archie was a remarkable individual whose love, kindness, and passion for life left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. In addition to his parents, Archie is preceded in death by his wife, Berniece Carol McDaniel Griggs; one brother, Garold Griggs; and one sister, Barbara Williams.
