Adam Joel King, age 42, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He was born on Tuesday, April 26, 1983, in Winchester, Kentucky, to Curtis King and Carmella Hoskins. Adam was a devoted member of Journey Church in Winchester, where he found community and purpose. With a strong background in construction, he had transitioned to a fulfilling role at Wild Brands in manufacturing, where his work ethic truly shone. A passionate animal lover, Adam dedicated much of his time to rescuing creatures in need, embodying his compassion and kindness. He was an avid fan of UK basketball, eagerly supporting his team, and he found excitement in watching UFC fights, immersed in the thrill of competition. His curiosity knew no bounds, as he delighted in studying various subjects, always eager to expand his knowledge. Known for his big heart, Adam was regarded as an excellent storyteller, effortlessly captivating those around him with his engaging narratives and warm spirit. People were naturally drawn to his infectious personality and sense of humor; he had a remarkable ability to make others feel at ease. Fiercely protective of his family, Adam always prioritized their well-being over his own, demonstrating his deep sense of loyalty and consideration. One of his most cherished relationships was with his late great-grandmother, Marcella "Cricket" Hoskins, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond. Her wisdom and love left a lasting impact on him, shaping the thoughtful and respectful man he became. Adam is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Iline Hoskins, and his paternal grandparents. Melvin and Louise King. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Jaycee Lynn Hail, of Irvine; one sister, Kelli Schoolar, of Mount Sterling; one brother, Ryan King, of Cynthiana; one step-sister, Cassie (James) Farmer, of Irvine; one step-brother, Kaleb (Sarah) Smyth, of Irvine; his maternal grandfather, Gary (Linda) Hoskins of Stanton; two nieces, Bailey Durham and Kennedy Taul; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Garrick Williams, will be held at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Eaton Cemetery in Clay City, with Kaleb Smyth, Stephen Gannon, Michael Reed, Brian Richardson, Jonathan Williams, Joshua Williams, Michael Kennon, and Jeff Jones serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is James Garrett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
